IP Look-Up

Windows 95 / 98 / ME Windows NT 4 / 2000 / XP |
IP Look-Up is for those of you who would like easy access to a list of all of the IP Addresses and Host Names that are currently assigned to your PC. The list can be automatically and/or manually refreshed, as and when required.
Anyway, you should find that IP Look-Up looks something like the screenshot below...
As you can see, there are few options to choose from when using IP Look-Up, hence it is very simple to use. However, what is not visible in the screenshot, is that IP Look-Up lives in the system tray, which is the part of the screen near your PC's clock.
To make IP Look-Up automatically refresh itself, at a given time interval, all you need to do is select the Auto-Refresh setting and enter a time interval, into the appropriate box. The time interval must be between 5 and 60 seconds for it to be accepted.
The purpose of the four different buttons should be clear from their names, however, a description for each is provided below:
The 'OK' button minimises IP Look-Up to the system tray.
The 'Apply' button ensures that the current settings are the ones being used.
The 'Refresh' button updates the IP Address and Host Name lists.
The 'Close' button closes IP Look-Up.
After minimising IP Look-Up, by clicking the 'OK' button, there are two ways that you can restore the program; you can either double click on the icon in the system tray, or right click on the icon in the system tray and select 'Show...' from the pop-up menu. You will also find that there is a 'Close' option on the pop-up menu, which provides an alternative way to close IP Look-Up, as well as an 'Auto-Load' option, which sets IP Look-Up to automatically load every time that Windows is (re)started.
If for some reason you decide that you no longer want to use this program, please make sure that the 'Auto-Load' option, found on the system tray menu, is not selected, before you delete the program from your PC, to avoid any error messages.
